We are right in the middle of the chaos at No. 5974 Balli Maran in Chandani Chowk. If you’ve ever been to Balli Maran, you know it’s famous for shoes and glasses. United Optical Company is one of those old-school spots where we just focus on frames and lenses. The street is always packed with people, rickshaws, and carts, so getting to our door is an experience. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but not by much. We have rows of frames and the smell of lens grinding in the back. It’s a family-style environment where we know the neighbors and the tea seller outside. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just open the shop, clean the glass cases, and wait for people to come in. Chandani Chowk has a history that you can feel every day. Our building is old, and the walls have seen a lot of years. We spend time helping people pick out frames that actually fit their faces without making a big deal out of it. It’s practical work. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just wait it out. That's life in this part of town. We keep things simple. If someone needs their glasses tightened or a new pair of lenses, we do it. It’s what we’ve always done at this address. The floor is a bit worn down and the mirrors are old, but it works for us and the people who visit.
