Bharat Auto Industries

Bharat Auto Industries sits at 28/1535 on Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh. It is a small workshop where we handle various auto components. The sound of machines running is something you hear from morning until we close. We have a few old lathes that take up most of the room on the floor. It is quite a tight squeeze, so you have to be careful not to trip over anything. There is always a smell of machine oil and metal in the air. We do not have a fancy showroom. People just come right onto the workshop floor to tell us what they are looking for. Most of the day we are covered in a bit of grease and metal dust. The street outside is usually blocked with rickshaws and delivery vans, which makes moving goods in and out a bit of a struggle. We have a small wooden desk tucked into a corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. It is a loud and busy place but we are used to it. Sometimes we stay late to finish an order if someone is in a real hurry for their parts. We do not have any cooling, so the heat from the machines makes it very warm in the summer months. We just focus on getting the parts made and sent out to the shops. It is basic work and we have been in this same spot for many years. We know all the other shop owners around here.
