Basher Empower And Social Welfare Association

We are over at House No. 106 Indra Chowk. If you know the area, it is pretty easy to find once you get to the main square. Basher Empower And Social Welfare Association is basically just us trying to help out where it makes sense. It isn't a huge operation with a lot of staff or anything like that. Mostly, it is just a few of us who grew up around here and wanted to see things get a bit better for the families living nearby. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who walk in. Sometimes they need help with stuff like getting their kids into a program or maybe they are having a hard time with food. We do what we can. It gets a bit crowded in the office sometimes, especially on Tuesday mornings when everyone seems to show up at once. The paint is peeling a little on the back wall but it doesn't really matter for what we do. We have been here for a couple of years now. It started because there was a need for someone to just listen and offer a hand without making it a big complicated thing. We don't have fancy brochures or a front desk person. You just come in and tell us what is going on. We try to figure out a way to make it work. It is simple work, really. Just people helping people right here in Indra Chowk.
