Asia Metals is located in Darya Ganj, at Flat No. 401, 4834/24 on Ansari Road. If you know Darya Ganj, you know it’s one of those parts of Delhi that never really sleeps. Ansari Road is famous for books and offices, and we’ve been tucked away in this fourth-floor flat for a while now. The elevator doesn't always work like it should, so we often end up taking the stairs, which keeps us awake in the mornings. Inside, the office is filled with the sound of ringing phones and the clicking of keyboards. We deal in metals, so there’s a lot of paperwork regarding weights, prices, and shipping schedules. It’s a bit of a cramped space with all the files and ledgers we keep, but it has a comfortable feel to it. Looking out the window, you can see the constant stream of rickshaws and people below. It’s a far cry from a quiet corporate park, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. The energy of the city helps us keep moving. We aren't a huge corporation with thousands of employees; we’re a small group of people who know the metal trade inside and out. Most of our day is spent negotiating and making sure our orders are moving through the supply chain. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes the office feel a bit stuffy, but we just turn on the fans and keep at it. It’s a busy, noisy, and rewarding way to spend the day.
