Our place is at 52/1796 on Hardyan Singh Road in Karol Bagh. If you know this part of Delhi, you know it’s the place to be for anything related to cars. We’ve been Anita Auto Spares for a long time now. The shop is basically just walls of shelves filled with brown boxes. There’s a smell of rubber and grease that never really goes away. We deal with all kinds of spare parts. Most of our day is spent climbing ladders to find a specific filter or a brake cable that someone needs for an old model. It’s a lot of manual work and checking old catalogs because the computer doesn't always have everything. We don't have a fancy waiting room or air conditioning. Most customers just stand on the sidewalk or lean against the counter while we dig through the stock. It gets very hot in the summer, and the dust from the road comes right inside. We have a small desk where we keep the accounts. We know the regular mechanics who come by every morning. We talk about the local news or how bad the traffic has become on Hardyan Singh Road. It’s a simple business. We buy parts, we store them, and we sell them to people who need to get their vehicles back on the road. That’s about it for us.
