Amtek Batteries

Amtek Batteries is located at Shop No 70 in Gokhle Market. We’re right by Tis Hazari and very close to the old telephone exchange. If you’ve been to Gokhle Market, you know it’s a hub for all sorts of auto and electrical parts. Our shop is full of batteries of all sizes, from small ones for cars to big ones for backup power. It’s a heavy business. We spend a lot of our time lifting these things and moving them around. The shop floor is concrete and usually has some marks from the battery casings. It’s not a place for fancy clothes; we all wear things that we don't mind getting a bit of grease on. There’s a lot of noise from the street—horns, people shouting, and the general buzz of the market. We don't have a website that we update or anything like that. Most of our customers are locals or people who have been coming to us for years. We just know our batteries and what works for which vehicle. It’s a straightforward trade. We open early and close when the market starts to wind down. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when it’s not too busy. It’s a simple life running a battery shop in such a crowded part of Delhi. We just try to keep the shelves stocked and help whoever walks in.
