Amit General Store

Amit General Store is right on the Main Road in Rajendar Nagar at 60/15. It is a typical neighborhood shop. We have everything from soap and pulses to snacks and notebooks. The shelves are packed tight. Sometimes it’s hard to find things, but we know where every single packet is kept. It’s a family-run place. I sit here most of the day, and my son takes over in the evenings. We see the same faces every morning. People stop by for milk or bread on their way home. Rajendar Nagar is a busy place, and being on the main road means there is never a quiet moment. We have a small fridge for cold drinks which is very popular in the summer. The counter is always cluttered with small change and candy jars. We don’t have any fancy billing machines, just a pen and a notebook to keep track of things. Sometimes customers stay for a chat about the weather or the local news. It’s more than just selling things; it’s about being part of the street. We’ve been at 60/15 for a long time. The paint on the sign is fading a bit, but everyone knows who we are. We open early before the schools start and don’t close until the street lights have been on for hours. That is just how it is.
