Nahar Electrical Works

Our workshop is located in the village of Taldi, out in the Canning area of South 24 Parganas. It’s a quiet place compared to the city. We’ve been doing electrical work for the people around here for a long time. Whether it’s fixing a pump or wiring a new house, we usually have our hands full. The shop is small and filled with wires, switches, and old motors waiting to be repaired. Sometimes we have to travel quite a bit to reach a customer in another village nearby. It’s not always easy getting parts delivered all the way out here, so we keep a good stock of the common things. My brothers and I run the place together. We learned the trade from our uncle when we were kids. It’s a lot of manual work and getting our hands dirty, but it’s what we know. In the evenings, people often sit on the bench outside our shop just to catch up on local news. We don't have a fancy office or air conditioning. We just have our tools and a bit of experience. Sometimes the power goes out, which is ironic for an electrical shop, but we just light a lamp and keep working on the repairs. It’s a simple life here in the district, and we’re glad to be the ones people call when their lights stop working or something breaks.
