Aikido Dojo

Our Aikido Dojo is located at 1296 on the Pilerne-Candolim Road. It is a very basic space that we have set up for practicing martial arts. We don’t have any fancy signs or expensive equipment inside. The most important thing in the dojo is the mat, which we keep as clean as possible for our training sessions. People from the surrounding areas of Pilerne and Candolim come here after they finish their work for the day. It is a place where we focus on movement and technique rather than competition or looking good. The road outside can get very busy with traffic, especially during the tourist season, but once you step inside, the focus changes to the practice. We don't have a staff of salespeople or any corporate branding. The dojo is run by people who just want a place to train regularly. We spend our time doing drills and helping each other understand the basic principles of Aikido. The building is an older structure, and it can get quite warm in the evenings, but we just open the windows and keep going. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule; we just have our set times for practice and we stick to them. It is an honest, local spot where the focus is on the mats and the people who show up to use them. If you are looking for 1296, it’s just a plain building on the main road.
