Up here at 1/16, Cherooty Road, things stay pretty steady for us at U S Industry. Mananchira is always moving, but inside our walls, we just stick to our routine. The building is an older one, so it has its quirks, like the door that sticks when it’s humid. We’ve tried fixing it, but it just goes back to being stubborn. Most of our day is spent handling orders and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a magazine. We have piles of papers and bits of equipment scattered around. It makes sense to us, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. My uncle used to work here too, so there’s a lot of history in these walls. We don’t spend much on decorating. A calendar from three years ago is still hanging in the back. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real breaks. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things over. Cherooty Road gets very busy in the evenings, so we try to get our loading done early. We aren't trying to be the biggest or anything. We just want to do the work right and get through the week. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy enough. We just open up and get to it.
