M.M. Rice & Oil Mills

Our mill is situated in Malugram, specifically at Silchar No. 2. We are very close to the Shiv Mandir, so we often hear the temple bells during the morning and evening prayers. It’s a nice sound to have in the background while we are working with the rice and oil. The smell of the pressed oil is quite strong around here, and you can usually tell we’re working from a block away. We’ve got a fairly old setup, but the machines still do what they’re supposed to do. Malugram is a lively neighborhood, and being near the temple means there are always people walking past. We often have to navigate the narrow streets when the supply trucks come in, which can be a bit of a challenge. The district around here has its own pace, and we’ve grown used to the humidity and the seasonal changes that affect the crop. Inside the mill, it’s mostly about keeping things clean and making sure the oil containers are sealed right. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that; it’s just a few of us making sure the work gets done every day. The office is just a corner with a desk and some files. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the local news while the machines run. It’s a steady life, and we’re glad to be part of this community. We stay busy and keep moving forward.
