Lakhipur Pig Producer Company Limited

Lakhipur Pig Producer Company Limited is based out in Howkipunjijirighat. It’s a small community here in the Lakhipur area. We are a group of pig farmers who thought it would be better to work as one company instead of everyone doing their own thing separately. The location is pretty quiet, which is good for the pigs. We don’t have fancy buildings. Our "office" is really just a room where we keep our boots and a few ledgers. Most of our time is spent out in the dirt with the animals. We have to haul water and feed every single day, no matter if it’s boiling hot or pouring rain. The ground here gets really soft and muddy, so we are always washing our boots. We aren't doing this to get rich quick or anything. We just want to make sure the pigs are healthy and that we have enough to keep the families going. There’s a lot of manual work involved, like fixing fences that the pigs break or cleaning out the pens. We’ve all known each other for a long time, so we just talk things over while we work. It’s not a formal place. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work clothes, probably busy with some chore. We just try to do a good job with the animals we have and keep things running smoothly in the village. It is basic work but it is what we know.
