Janiganj Bazar is a very tight and crowded place to work. Our spot here at Bhura Tea Co. Pvt. Ltd. is right in the middle of all that daily noise. It smells like dried tea leaves all the time, even on the weekends when the doors are shut. We have sacks piled up almost to the ceiling. People walk past the front door all day long. It's a busy market, so there’s always someone shouting or a wooden cart moving on the street. We don’t have a showroom or anything to look at. It’s more of a warehouse and a small office space tucked way in the back. The stairs are a bit narrow and steep for some. We’ve been handling tea for a long time now. It’s what we know best. The floors are worn down from years of heavy boots and bags being dragged across them. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front entrance, but we just put a bucket there and keep moving. It’s part of being in an old building in this bazaar. We drink a lot of chai ourselves during the day. It’s not a quiet or peaceful job. You have to like the chaos of the market to work here. We just keep track of the stock and send out the chests to whoever needs them. It’s a simple life. Just tea and the marketplace.
