ANTOUDAY NIDHI LIMITED

It is pretty quiet over here in Ambikapur Part XI, right by Meherpur Lane. If you know Silchar Sadar at all, you probably passed our spot at House Number 4 without thinking much about it. That is just how we like things at Antouday Nidhi Limited. We have been sitting here in Cachar for a while now, just dealing with the daily paperwork and chatting with neighbors who drop in. The office is not anything fancy, just a room with some desks and old fans that make a bit too much noise when it gets hot in Assam. We spend most of our mornings drinking tea and going through the ledgers. Sometimes the rain gets so heavy on the roof that we can’t hear each other talk, but we just keep working anyway. People from around the town know where to find us if they need to sort something out. We don’t have any big signs or flashing lights. It is just us, a few chairs, and the same routine every day. Most of the folks who come by are people we’ve known for years. We talk about the local news or how the roads are holding up before we get down to any actual business. It is a slow way of doing things compared to the big cities, but it works for us here in Silchar. We keep the doors open and just handle whatever comes across the desk, one person at a time.
