Shidenur Taralabalu Amrith Horticulture

Shidenur is a quiet place and we spend most of our days out in the dirt here at the horticulture spot. Kirankumar, who is Rudrappa’s son, is the one in charge of things around the farm. We are located right at his residence in Shidenur, which is part of the Byadgi area. People know this part of the country for its red soil and the crops we manage to pull out of it every season. It gets quite busy when the harvest time rolls around and everyone is trying to get things sorted before the weather turns. We don't have a big office or anything fancy like that, just the space we work in and the storage areas. Most of us have lived in Byadgi our whole lives so we know the land pretty well. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when we need it, but that's just how it goes with farming. We stay busy with the plants and the trees, making sure they get enough water and looking after the soil. It is a lot of physical work and your hands get dirty within the first five minutes of the day. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity. We're just a group of people from the village working on this project together. If you come by the house, you'll likely see us sorting through whatever we picked that morning or talking about the next planting cycle.
