Ujjal Mondal

My name is Ujjal Mondal and I work out of Alamganj. It’s where I’ve stayed for most of my life, so it made sense to start my work here too. Alamganj is a busy place with a lot of people moving around all the time. I don't have a big fancy office with glass windows. It's just a regular spot where I can get my tasks done. People around here know me by name. I don't do much marketing or anything like that because word of mouth usually works fine in a place like this. The streets are narrow in some parts, but that's just how it is. I keep my tools and paperwork in order, even if the desk looks a bit messy to someone else. I start my day early, usually with a cup of tea before the noise of the town kicks in. Dealing with things one by one is how I like to work. I don't have a big staff, it's mostly just me taking care of what needs doing. Alamganj has a certain feel to it that you don't get in the bigger cities. It’s a bit more personal here. You see the same faces every day. I try to stay honest with everyone I talk to. If I can do a job, I say so. If not, I tell them that too. It’s just simpler that way. Life here is steady and I plan to keep it that way for the foreseeable future. There is something nice about being your own boss.
