Kidzee

This Kidzee is located in the Vijay Pahth Apartment on Samiram Roy Road in Asansol. It’s a preschool, so we occupy a part of the building that’s been converted for the kids. It’s a bit different being in an apartment complex, but it works well for the families who live nearby. They can just walk their kids over in the morning. We have small rooms that we’ve decorated with bright colors and stickers to make it feel welcoming for the toddlers. The space is filled with toys, blocks, and books. Our day starts early when the first parents drop their children off before heading to work. We spend the time doing simple things like drawing, learning songs, and playing games. It’s more of a home-like environment than a strict school. The staff here are very patient, which you have to be when you’re dealing with three-year-olds all day. We have a small area for outdoor play, though it’s not as big as a full school yard. Asansol is a busy city, and Samiram Roy Road gets quite a bit of traffic, but inside it’s usually just the sound of kids playing. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just make sure the kids are looked after and learn a few things before they head home for lunch. It is a simple setup run by people who care.
