Out here in Mithani, things are a lot quieter than the big towns. Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. is set up at Mr. J.N. Chakraborty’s place. It is basically a village environment in the Burdwan district. Being in West Bengal, the weather gets really humid in the summer, and the rains can slow things down on the sites, but we just deal with it as it comes. The office is really just a base of operations for our construction work in this area. We spend most of our time out on the roads or at the actual build sites anyway. It is not the kind of place where you will find a receptionist in a suit. Usually, it is just one of us sitting with a ledger or a laptop trying to sort out the week’s payroll. We know the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes we have to wait a bit for deliveries to arrive from the main city, but that is just how it goes when you are out in the village post office area. We have been here for a while and the locals are used to seeing our trucks and equipment moving through. It is a straightforward way to run a business. No frills, just hard work and making sure the projects stay on track. The address might seem a bit tucked away, but we find it is a good spot to keep things organized without too many distractions from the outside world.
