Prgya General Store

Prgya General Store is situated in the Dhan Mandi area on the Main Road in Sultanpur. Being near the mandi means it’s always active around here. We get a lot of farmers and workers coming in for their daily needs. The shop is filled with sacks of grain and small packets of everyday stuff. It’s a bit messy sometimes because things move fast. We try to keep up with the cleaning but the dust from the road is a bit much. It’s a family business, so you’ll usually see one of us sitting behind the wooden counter. We don’t have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that helps in the Kota heat. People stop by to chat as much as they do to buy things. We know who likes which brand of tea or who needs extra sugar. It’s just a small shop, nothing special to look at from the outside. We focus on having the stuff people actually use every day. If someone needs a particular item for a festival, we try to stock it in advance. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags and counting items. But this is what we do. We’ve been part of this street for a long time now. The street outside is usually full of trucks and tractors since the mandi is right there. It can be quite loud, so we have to shout sometimes to hear the customers.
