Annpurna Shoppy

Annpurna Shoppy is located on Mehkar Road in Shivaji Nagar, right near the SBI Bank. Being near a bank means we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. We are in Ward No. 1, and the shop is just a basic place for people to pick up their groceries and household items. We call it a shoppy, but it’s really just a neighborhood store where we keep things like soap, snacks, and different types of grains. The shelves are usually packed tight because we don’t want to run out of the things people use every day. It’s not a very quiet place, especially with the traffic on Mehkar Road always humming in the background. We spend a lot of time checking what’s arrived and what we need to get more of. Sometimes the deliveries are late and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow for their favorite brand of tea. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just us working through the day, weighing out portions and bagging things up for the neighbors. Most people who come in live just a few streets away, so we end up knowing a lot of their stories. It’s a straightforward business, nothing too complicated about it. We just keep the doors open and make sure we have the essentials ready for whoever walks in after their visit to the bank or on their way home.
