Sabe Hospital

Sabe Hospital is on Cinema Road in Nandura. It’s a busy part of town because of the shops nearby. The hospital has been here a long time, and the building shows its age a bit, but it does the job. People know us by the cinema hall nearby, so it’s easy to give directions. Inside, it smells a bit like cleaning fluid and old paper. We have a lot of benches in the hallway for people to wait. On market days, it gets very crowded because people from the nearby villages come into Nandura for their errands and stop by here too. The rooms are basic. We have a small staff and we all know each other well. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a minute for the backup to kick in. It’s just part of living in this area. We don’t have those big glass windows or shiny floors you see in movies. It’s a working hospital for regular people. The noise from Cinema Road comes in through the windows sometimes—mostly just horns and people talking. We keep the records in big metal cabinets that squeak when you open them. It’s a familiar place for everyone in Nandura. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just stay open and wait for whoever needs us. It’s a lot of sitting and talking to patients and trying to keep things moving along. It is what it is, and we have been here for the town.
