Down in Tappal Ganj here in Aligarh, you will find our little spot, Jeevan Joyti Eye Clinic. It’s a modest place on a street that gets quite busy during market days. We have a couple of rooms for testing and a small area where people can wait. The chairs in the waiting room are mismatched because we have added them one by one over the years as we needed more space. We don't have a big receptionist desk; usually, someone just pokes their head out of the office to see who has arrived. The equipment we use is reliable, even if it is not the newest model on the market. We spend a lot of time cleaning the lenses and making sure the charts on the wall are straight. Lighting is important for what we do, so we are always changing bulbs to keep everything bright. People from the local Aligarh neighborhoods come in with all sorts of complaints, and we just do our best to help them out. It’s a slow and steady kind of day most of the time. We know a lot of the families around here, and it is nice when they stop by just to say hello even if they don't need their eyes checked. We don't use any marketing tricks to get people in. Word of mouth in Tappal Ganj is usually enough to keep us busy from morning till evening.
