Rohit Kumar Atta Dealer

I run this atta business at the Islam Nagar Chauraha in Nayi Basti. It’s right there in Ward No. 13 Bahbjoi. Most people around here know the shop because we have been supplying flour for a long time. It’s a simple operation. We get the big sacks in, and we sell them to local families and the smaller shops in the neighborhood. The place is usually a bit dusty because of all the flour in the air, but that’s normal for a dealer. I spend most of my day weighing bags and loading them onto rickshaws or cycles for people. It’s a busy corner at the chauraha, so there is always someone passing by or stopping to chat for a few minutes. I don't have a big team, just a couple of helpers when the shipments are heavy and need moving. We don't do any big advertising or anything fancy like that. People know where we are and they know what we sell. I try to keep the quality consistent because if the rotis aren't good, people won't come back to my shop. The hours are long, starting before the sun is really up and staying late until the last customer leaves. It’s honest work and it supports my family well enough. Nayi Basti is a good neighborhood to work in. There’s always noise from the street and the sound of the mill nearby. We just keep the bags stacked up and wait for the regulars.
