D. K. Cold Storages & General Mills

In the middle of Village Kariri, you will find D. K. Cold Storages & General Mills. We are located in the Bulandshahr district, which is very much a farming area. Because of that, our days are usually tied to the seasons and what is happening in the fields around us. The cold storage part of the building stays quite chilly, which is a nice relief during the peak of summer when the village is baking under the sun. The general mills side is usually humming with the sound of grinding or processing, and there’s often a thin layer of dust on the windows. It’s a very practical place. We don’t have a website or a social media manager; we just open the gates in the morning and see who comes by with their crops. Life in Village Kariri is quiet compared to the city, and our work reflects that. We see a lot of the same faces every week, mostly local farmers who have been coming to this spot for years. The building itself has been standing for quite some time and has that lived-in look. We don't try to make it look like something it's not. It’s a place for storage and milling, and that’s what we focus on from morning until evening. Sometimes we have to stay late if a big shipment comes in, but mostly we follow the rhythm of the village. It’s honest work that keeps us busy throughout the year.
