Naman Traders

Our shop is in the Bulandshahr District, specifically in Aurangabad. We are very close to the Punjab National Bank. Most people use the bank as a landmark when they are trying to find us. It’s a busy corner of the town. Naman Traders has been a part of this street for years. We deal with all kinds of trading goods that the local farmers and builders need. The building is an old one with thick walls which stays a bit cooler in the summer. I sit near the entrance on a tall stool so I can see who is coming and going. There is always a stack of ledgers on the counter because I prefer writing things down by hand rather than using a computer for everything. Sometimes the bank queue gets so long that people come over to our shade to wait. We don't mind. It gives us someone to talk to. The dust from the road settles on everything so we are always wiping down the counter. My brothers help me with the inventory and the deliveries. We have a small back room where we keep the more expensive items locked up. It’s a straightforward business. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here and they come when they need something. That’s how we like it. I usually keep a bowl of water outside for the stray dogs too.
