Our shop is at 9A, Khairu Place, right in the Mission Row area. If you’ve ever driven through this part of the city, you know how cramped and busy the streets are. There’s barely enough room for two cars to pass sometimes. We’ve been here in this old building for a long time. The walls are stained with oil and the floor is never really clean, no matter how much we sweep. We handle a lot of different motor parts and repairs. It’s usually a bit of a mess with boxes piled up and engines being taken apart on the floor. The noise from the street outside is constant—horns, people shouting, and the general roar of the city. We don’t have a fancy reception area with air conditioning. Usually, customers just stand around and talk to us while we work. We’ve got a small crew, and we’ve all been working together for years, so we know where every single nut and bolt is kept. Some days we are so swamped we can barely breathe, and other days it’s a bit quieter and we can sit on the stools and have some chai. We don't claim to be anything we aren't. We just fix things and sell the parts people need to get their vehicles back on the road. It’s a bit gritty and loud, but it’s home for us and our customers.
