Our shop is at 14, Princep Street, right on the ground floor. If you are standing outside the Embassy Hotel, you just have to look across the street and you will see us. Princep Street is a legendary spot for anyone looking for anything related to cars or machinery, and we are right in the thick of that chaos. Every day is a whirlwind of people looking for parts, couriers dropping off boxes, and the constant hum of traffic. Our space is packed from floor to ceiling with stock. We’ve got shelves that groan under the weight of metal components and bins filled with every nut and bolt you can imagine. It is not a place where you would want to wear a white shirt because you are bound to brush up against something dusty or oily. We don't have any air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans to move the air around when it gets stuffy. There is a small desk where we handle the cash and the bills, and it is usually covered in scraps of paper with part numbers written on them. We have known most of the other shop owners on this block for years. We spend our time helping people find what they need and making sure our inventory isn't missing anything important. It is a busy, noisy, and somewhat messy way to earn a living, but it suits us just fine. We just keep the doors open and see who walks in.
