About Gajjar Furniture – Safety & Security in Botad
If you head down Paliyad Road to Plot No-4, that is where you’ll find Gajjar Furniture. We’ve been set up here for some time. The workshop is usually full of wood scraps and the smell of sawdust, which I guess is expected for a place like this. We don’t have a big polished showroom with bright lights. Instead, it’s mostly just us working with our tools and trying to get the joints to fit right. It gets a bit dusty inside, so we keep the doors open when the weather is nice. People stop by to ask about tables or cupboards, and we just show them what we’re currently building on the floor. It is a straightforward operation. We have a few benches and the machines we need. Some days the wood delivery is late and that throws off our whole schedule, which is frustrating, but we deal with it. We aren’t trying to be the biggest furniture place around, just a local spot where people can get something solid made for their homes. My hands are usually covered in some kind of stain or glue by the end of the afternoon. We take breaks when we can, sitting outside for a bit. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot, but seeing a finished piece ready to go out on a truck feels okay. We just keep at it, one piece at a time.
