If you head over to Shed No. K1/24, that’s where you’ll find P M Engineering. We’ve been in this particular shed for a while now. It’s a bit small, but it fits everything we need to do our work. We mostly handle small-scale engineering jobs and repairs. The workbench is usually covered in oil and metal shavings because we stay pretty busy. It’s just a few of us here, and we’ve known each other for years. We don’t have a website or any of that, just a sign on the door. Most of our days are spent standing at the lathes or welding bits of steel together. It’s physical work, and we go home tired every day. The coffee machine in the corner is probably the most used thing in the shop besides the hammers. We don't have a front desk, so if someone walks in, they just talk to whoever isn't busy. It’s a casual way of doing things, but it works for us. The shed gets a bit leaky when it rains heavy, but we just move the stuff out of the way and keep working. We’re just regular folks trying to do a decent job with the tools we have. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a wrench or just to chat for five minutes while we take a break. It's a simple life and we like it that way. We focus on the task at hand and don't worry about much else. That is how we get things done.
