Goalpara Aim Foundation

We are located on College Road in Bongaigaon, at a place called Acharya Bhavan. Sibu Ram Sarma is usually the person you will find here if you drop by. Even though our name mentions Goalpara, we do almost all of our work right here in the Dolaigaon area. We have been doing this for a while now. It started out with just a few of us wanting to be useful to our neighbors. We do not have a big office with air conditioning or fancy chairs. It is more of a community room where we keep our files and meet with people. We handle all sorts of things depending on what is needed that day. Sometimes it is helping a local student with their papers, other times it is looking into a small development project. It is not very glamorous work. There is usually some dust on the shelves and plenty of old ledgers lying around. We don't do any marketing or advertising. Most people find us because a friend or a family member told them we might be able to help. We try to be fair and listen to everyone who comes through the door. It is a big responsibility, and we certainly do not have all the answers. But we are here every single day, trying to figure things out. It is just us, working in a small room on a busy street. We like the local noise of the town.
