Mesto Miner Ales (India) Pvt. Ltd. Bawal (Haryana)

This company has a bit of a spread-out situation going on. The name mentions Bawal in Haryana, but a lot of the actual day-to-day operations and the people I work with are located in the New BCCL Colony in Dugda. That is out in the Bokaro district of Jharkhand. My address is Qno-M53/1, which is just a regular staff quarter in the colony. Being in a mining area like Dugda means everything revolves around the mines and the coal production. It is a very specific kind of life living in a BCCL colony. The air is often thick with coal dust and the sound of the heavy machinery moving around is never really far away. We handle things related to the mineral and mining industry, which makes sense given where we are situated in Jharkhand. It is a long way from Bawal, but the work connects the two places together. Life in the colony is pretty simple. Everyone knows their neighbors because we all work for the same industry. We spend a lot of time on the phone or handling parts and equipment that go into the mines. It is not a glamorous job at all. Most of the time we are just trying to keep the equipment running so the work doesn't stop. The post office and the police station are both in Dugda, so it is a small, self-contained world for us. We just do our bit to keep the minerals moving.
