Jha Ji General Store

Jha Ji General Store is located in Jaridih Block over in the Bokaro district. Being near the Civil Court means we see a lot of different people every single day. Lawyers in their black coats come in looking for pens or a quick snack between their hearings. Local villagers from the surrounding areas also stop by while they are in town for their legal matters. The shop is small and packed with all sorts of things. We have notebooks, snacks, some basic medicines, and household items. The dust from the road is a bit of a problem, so we are always wiping down the counters with a rag. It is a lively spot because of the court nearby. There is always someone in a hurry. We do not use any computers here; we just write everything down in a thick register with a blue pen. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit but it keeps the air moving during the summer. We have been here for many years and the shop has not changed much at all. We know where every single item is kept, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. It is just a regular life of selling things and watching the world go by from behind a counter. Jaridih is a decent place to be. We stay open until the court closes and everyone heads home. Then we lock up and do it all again.
