Hotel Nikhar

Hotel Nikhar is on Court Road. It is a pretty straightforward place. We have rooms on a couple of floors and a small reception desk near the entrance. Being on Court Road means we get a lot of people coming in for legal business or visiting the government offices nearby. It’s never really quiet outside because of the traffic and the people walking by. We spend a lot of time changing linens and making sure the water is running right. The building is older, so there is always a bit of maintenance to do, like fixing a leaky tap or painting a wall. We have a small staff who have been here for years. We know the local shopkeepers and the rickshaw drivers who wait out front. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to get the generator started. It’s just part of life here. The lobby isn't very big, but there are a few chairs for guests to wait in. We don't offer fancy meals or room service like the big chains. Most people just need a clean bed and a ceiling fan that works. We try to keep the place tidy and welcoming for whoever walks through the door. It is a busy life, keeping a hotel running day and night, but we are used to the rhythm of it now. There is always something that needs doing before the next guest arrives for their stay.
