Gystree Foundation

Gystree Foundation is based out of Gaytree Niwas in the village of Butwariya. We are right near the Block Office in Tisri, which is in the Giridih district. Sahdeo Pandey is the person who looks after the place. Being near the Block Office is handy because a lot of people pass through there anyway. Our village is a quiet place most of the time, and we like it that way. We aren't some big-city group trying to tell people what to do. We are just local folks who live in Butwariya and know the land. The foundation is run out of a simple ground-floor space. We don't have fancy signage or big lights. Most people find us by asking around or just seeing Sahdeo outside. We don't spend money on advertising because everyone here knows us already. We just try to help out with local issues, whether it’s paperwork or just giving some advice. It’s a very basic setup. We have a few chairs and maybe some old files stacked in the corner. We aren't polished and we don't try to be. We speak the local language and understand the local ways. Sometimes it’s hard to get things done when the weather is bad or the roads are blocked, but we do our best. We just want to be a helpful presence in Tisri for as long as we can stay open.
