Gupta General Store

Gupta General Store has been sitting here at the Steel Gate area of Saraidhela for quite a while now. We are located right on the Main Road, which means it stays pretty busy from early morning until we close up at night. Running a shop like this in Dhanbad means you get to know almost everyone who lives in the neighborhood. We spend our days handling the usual stuff like stocking shelves with flour, rice, and different kinds of snacks that the kids like to buy after school. The shop is often a bit crowded with supplies because we try to keep a bit of everything, so you might have to squeeze past a few bags of lentils to get to the counter. It gets really dusty outside with all the trucks passing by, so we are constantly wiping down the glass jars. We do not use any big marketing tricks or have a polished look; it is just a regular general store where things are a bit messy but functional. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit, but that is just part of living in this part of town. We are just local people serving other local people, and we take things one day at a time, making sure the jars are full and the floor is swept. It is honest work and we are happy to be here on the Main Road.
