Laxmi Packaging

The factory is out at Plot No.J-108 in the M.I.D.C area, right across from Vardhman Chemical. If you’re in Boisar West, you know this part gets pretty busy with all the industrial traffic. We spend most of our time dealing with cardboard, plastic, and rolls of tape. It’s a big open space, but it fills up fast when we get a new shipment of raw materials in. The machines for cutting and folding are always humming, and you have to speak up if you want to be heard over the noise. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof in the afternoons, so we keep the big doors open to let some air in. People are always coming and going, mostly drivers checking their paperwork or workers moving pallets around with the hand jacks. We don’t really have a fancy office, just a small corner with a desk and some old files. Most of the guys have been here for years and they know exactly how to handle the machines without even looking. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend the morning fixing a belt or a motor, which slows everything down. It’s just how industrial life is. We focus on getting the boxes out the door so the trucks can leave on time. It’s a lot of lifting and packing, day in and day out, but we are used to it by now.
