Kokuyo Camlin Limited

Kokuyo Camlin Limited is up on the 3rd floor of the Satam Estate. We are located right above the Bank of Baroda on Cardinal Gracious Road in Chakala. It’s a very busy part of Mumbai. If you walk outside, the streets are always packed with people heading to the metro or the bus stop. Inside the office, things are a bit more organized, but we still have boxes of markers and pens everywhere. We spend our days looking at colors and testing out new types of ink or pencils. It’s a bit of an older building, so the corridors are narrow and you can hear the sounds from the bank downstairs during the day. We don't have a lot of space for anything fancy, just our desks and the shelves full of art supplies. The staff here is a mix of people who have been with the company for decades and some younger folks who just started. We mostly just focus on getting the products out to the stores. It gets pretty humid in Chakala, so the fans are always going. Sometimes the elevator gets stuck, so we have to use the stairs, which isn't great when you're carrying a heavy box of samples. We aren't trying to be some high-tech tech startup. We just make things that people use to write and draw. It’s a simple business and we like it that way.
