Mrittika Natural Farm

Mrittika Natural Farm is located out in Pabhoi. If you haven't been to this part of the country, it's mostly just green fields and open sky. We spend most of our time outside, so the office is really just a place to keep the boots dry and store a few tools. Farming isn't really a clean job, and we usually have dirt under our fingernails no matter how much we wash. We grow things the way they used to be grown, without adding a bunch of chemicals that we can't even pronounce. It’s hard work, especially when the weather doesn't want to cooperate. Some days it’s too hot to move, and other days the rain turns everything into a big muddy mess. We just take it as it comes. Pabhoi is a quiet place, which is nice because you can actually hear yourself think while you’re working the soil. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; it’s just us and the land. People around here know what we’re doing, and sometimes they stop by to see how the crops are coming along. We aren’t trying to change the world, just trying to grow some decent food and look after the piece of ground we’ve got. It’s a long day, starting at dawn, but it feels good to see things actually growing because of the effort you put in.
