Our company, Sonar Bangla Hotels and Resorts Private Limited, is located in Fullaratala, over in Labpur. It’s a place with a lot of history and religious importance because of the temple nearby. We focus on providing a place for people who come to visit the area. It’s a small operation even though the name sounds a bit bigger. Labpur is a quiet town for the most part, except during festival times. We spend a lot of time keeping the property in good shape. The dust can be a problem so we are always sweeping. We have a few rooms and we try to make sure they are comfortable enough for a night or two. It’s not a luxury resort. We are just local people working here. I handle the guests when they arrive and my cousins help with the cleaning and the food. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing budget. Most people just show up or call us on the phone. The building is simple and we keep it painted as much as we can. West Bengal weather is tough on buildings, so there’s always a wall to patch or a roof to check. We are just trying to provide a service for the pilgrims and travelers who pass through Fullaratala. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy throughout the year. We like meeting the different people who come through. It’s a steady life for us in Labpur.
