Joy Maa Durga Rice Mill Private Limited

Ahmedpur is a nice place to live and work. We are set up here under the care of Rajib Bhattacharya in the village. The mill is named after Maa Durga, which feels right for us and the community. It is a family-oriented place, even if it says private limited company on the paperwork. We do not act like a big corporation. Most of the time, I am wearing my old work clothes and helping the guys move the heavy bags. The dust gets everywhere—in your hair, on your clothes, and even in your food if you are not careful. We have been in this village for a long time now. Everyone knows the sound of our engines starting up in the morning. We have some older equipment that needs a lot of looking after, but it still does the job for us. We do not spend any money on marketing or fancy ads. People just come to us because they know where we are and they know we work hard every day. Sometimes we have a little celebration during the local festivals, but mostly it is just steady work. We start early when the air is still a bit cool. By noon, it feels like a furnace inside the building. We take a long break then to escape the heat. It is a rhythm we have had for years. It is not a glamorous life, but it is our life. We keep moving and working.
