We operate Ggl Pinewoods out of a flat in the Mritsikha building over in Gopalnagar. We are in Flat 3B of Block 1. Shantiniketan is a much calmer place than Kolkata, and that definitely reflects in how we work. It’s not a traditional office building; it’s more of a residential-style setup, which makes it feel a bit more relaxed. We handle things related to pinewood and other materials from here. The view from the window is mostly trees and other houses, which is quite nice when you need a break from staring at the computer screen. We aren’t trying to be a huge industrial firm. We’re just a small team of people who know a lot about wood and how to get it from one place to another. Our records are kept in a few big cabinets, and we spend our time talking to suppliers and checking on quality. It’s not always fast-paced. Sometimes things take a while to get moving, especially with the logistics in this part of West Bengal. We don’t use any marketing jargon or try to impress anyone with big words. We just tell people what we have and when we can get it to them. It’s a quiet, honest way of doing business. We like being in Shantiniketan because it’s peaceful and it suits the way we like to live and work.
