We are set up in the Hattala Para area of Rampurhat, over in Birbhum district. It is a busy part of West Bengal and our office reflects that every day. We aren't in a high-rise building; it’s more of a local spot where we can keep an eye on things and be close to the work. The office has seen its fair share of wear and tear over the years. We have some old wooden desks and a lot of maps of the local area pinned to the walls. It gets quite humid here, and we usually have the windows open to catch a breeze, though that brings in the noise from the street outside. We aren't big on formalities. If someone comes in, we just talk to them like neighbors or friends. Our main focus is getting the work done on the various sites we manage around the district. There is a lot of paperwork involved in building things, and we spend plenty of time tackling that at these desks. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby or modern furniture. We just want to make sure the foundations are poured correctly and the beams are straight. It's a simple life, mostly focused on the job at hand. Sometimes we stay late when a project is in a crunch, but that’s just part of the deal in this industry. We just get on with it.
