Vasant Colour And Chemicals operates out of two plots, No. 208 and 209. You can find us in the 396321 area. We work with a lot of different dyes and chemical mixtures here. If you look at our hands, you can usually tell what we were working on that day because there’s always a bit of blue or red that doesn’t wash off right away. The facility is divided between storage and a small area where we do our mixing. We have a lot of plastic drums and metal vats sitting around the floor. It might look a bit messy to someone from a big office, but we know exactly what is in every container. We aren't big on titles or hierarchies here. Everyone helps out with unloading the trucks or cleaning up a spill if it happens. We started this because there was a need for local supply and we just kept growing bit by bit. The roof leaks a little in one corner during the heavy monsoon rains, so we just move the drums out of the way until it stops. We use old-fashioned scales to weigh everything out because they are reliable. We don't have a fancy logo or a big sales team. We just make the colors people need and try to get the orders out on the day we promised. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night most days.
