Balaji Cement Industries

Balaji Cement Industries is located at R-9. It’s a short address, but it’s home to us. Cement is a messy business, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We spend our days moving bags and checking the mixtures. The space at R-9 is mostly open so we have room for the materials and the loaders. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice suit. We have a small tin roof over the main area to keep the rain off, but when it pours, it’s very loud inside. We don't have any big mission statements or corporate slogans. We just know that people need cement for their projects, and we are here to provide it. The work is heavy and can be hard on the back, but we have a good crew who doesn't complain much. We take our breaks together and talk about the news or what’s happening in our families. There is a lot of dust in the air, so we keep the water jug full. We’ve been at this R-9 location for a long time, and we don't plan on moving. It’s a simple setup that works for us. We don't need fancy offices to do what we do. We just need the space and the strength to get the loading done. At the end of the day, we wash up and head out, leaving the dust behind until tomorrow.
