Government High School

You can find us out in the Bilgi Rural area of Bagalkot. It is a quiet spot, away from the main town center, which makes it a good place for a school. The school has been part of this rural community for many years. Most of our students come from the nearby farms and small houses in the surrounding countryside. The building is a typical government design, nothing too special to look at, but it serves its purpose. We have several rooms for the high school classes. During the summer, it can get quite hot inside, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze there is. There is a lot of open space around the school where the kids play and hang out. It is mostly dirt and grass. We don't have many fancy tools or computers, so we rely on books and the blackboards. The staff is used to the rural pace of life here. We start early and finish up by the afternoon so the kids can get home before it gets too late. It is a simple life here. We deal with the usual problems like leaky roofs during the heavy rains or fixing a broken fence. Everyone knows everyone else in this part of Bagalkot. We just show up every day, open the doors, and get to work teaching the local kids who come through.
