Vihatha Foundation

Vihatha Foundation is based in Uslapur, which is a part of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. Our specific spot is House Number A130 in Nature City, Phase II. It is a residential area, so it's usually pretty quiet during the day except for the occasional car or someone walking their dog. The 495003 area is growing quite a bit lately. We have been here for a while, and the house itself is just a regular home that we’ve turned into our workspace. It’s got a small front area and the rooms are filled with folders and a few old computers. It doesn't feel like an office at all, which is how we like it. Most people in Phase II know where A130 is if you ask around. Bilaspur can get really hot in the summer, so we usually have the fans going full blast while we sit and work. It is not a fancy setup. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you just knock on the door and someone will let you in. We usually offer a glass of water because of the heat. The foundation is basically run by a few of us who live nearby. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with meetings and presentations. We just talk about what needs doing and then we do it. It is a very direct way of working. Being in Nature City means we are surrounded by families, which keeps us feeling connected to the real world.
