Privete Architecture

We are based out in the village of Masaniyakala, which is part of the Sakti Tehsil in Janjgir-Champa. It is a different kind of life here in Chhattisgarh compared to the big cities. The air is quieter and the work is mostly about helping people in the surrounding villages build their homes. Our office is a simple room that stays relatively cool because of the trees outside. We don't have the big fancy equipment you see in the city offices. We rely on a few good tools and a lot of local knowledge about the soil and the weather around here. The roads can get quite muddy when the rains come, so site visits often mean getting a bit of dirt on our shoes. Most of the people who come to see us are farmers or local shop owners who want something solid that will last for their kids. We spend a lot of time explaining how a foundation works or why a window should be on a certain side of the house. It is not about making something look like it belongs in a magazine. It is about making sure a family has a roof that doesn't leak and walls that stay cool in the summer heat. We have been in this spot for a good while and everyone in the village knows where to find us if they have a question about a new wall or a fence.
