Naman Rubber Industries

We are based out at Naman Rubber Industries in Plot No 106, Sector B. This is part of the Sirgitti Industrial Area, so it’s mostly factories and warehouses around us. We work with rubber, making different parts and components. The smell of raw rubber is something you just get used to after the first week. It’s a big open space with some old machinery that still runs better than the new stuff sometimes. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years. They know the rhythm of the machines by heart. The floor is usually a bit messy with scraps and offcuts, but we clean up at the end of each shift. It’s not a glamorous job. We get grease on our hands and the noise can be a lot during the peak hours. Our office is just a small partitioned corner with a couple of chairs and a computer that’s a bit slow. We deal with other businesses in the industrial area mostly. It’s a lot of "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" around here. If a neighbor needs a tool, we lend it, and they do the same for us. We just focus on getting the dimensions right on the rubber pieces we make. It’s practical work for practical people. We stay here until the last order is loaded onto the truck. That’s how life goes for us in Sirgitti.
