L&T-Ecc

We are based out of the L&T-Ecc office at the Sipat NTPC site in Bilaspur. Since we are right on the plant grounds, things are a bit different here than in a city office. It is very industrial, and there is dust everywhere no matter how much we clean. We spend most of our time in these portable cabins or the main site building. It’s all about the project here. We wear our safety gear almost all day because we are constantly stepping out to check on the progress. The office is full of heavy desks, filing cabinets that don't quite close right, and lots of hard hats sitting on every available surface. It gets incredibly hot in Chhattisgarh, so we rely on the coolers quite a bit during the summer months. We aren't here to look pretty; we are here to make sure the engineering work for the power plant stays on schedule. Lunch is usually something quick brought from home or the canteen. We talk shop even when we are supposed to be on break. It’s a rough-and-ready kind of place. There’s a small radio in the corner that plays local stations, though the signal is patchy. We have a whiteboard that's been stained for years because someone used the wrong marker once. It’s those little things that make the place ours. We aren't trying to be anything other than a group of people working hard at a massive power plant site. It is just the way life is here.
