Jagota Dental Clinic

Jagota Dental Clinic is located in Village Behdala, which is just outside of Una. It’s a rural spot, so things move a bit slower here than they do in the city. Most people know us because they’ve lived in Behdala their whole lives. The clinic is part of the local landscape now. It’s a modest building, and we don't have any neon signs or anything like that. Inside, there is the dental chair and a small desk where I keep the records in big ledgers. We get a lot of natural light during the day, which is nice. Sometimes birds land on the windowsill while I’m working. People come in after they’ve finished their work in the fields or at the local shops. We talk about the crops or the local news while I get the tools ready. It’s an honest way to make a living, helping people with their teeth in a place where everyone knows everyone else. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, so I have to wipe down the counters quite often. We don't have fancy waiting room furniture, just some wooden benches that have been there for years. It’s a quiet life in Una, and the clinic reflects that. We just take one patient at a time and do the best we can with what we have here in the village of Behdala.
